Welcome to My Page
A Bit About Me
I am currently a developer with the data science, optimization, and orchestration (DSOO) team at Power Digital Core, Shell Energy. Here I fulfill my passion for maths, coding, and energy markets! I also serve as Assistant Adjunct Professor of ECE Department, at Bourns College of Engineering, UC Riverside.
My research and development background is mainly on developing mathematical models, analytic tools, and performing system analysis in energy domain. It generally involves programming, developing optimization techniques, statistical analysis, stochastic optimization, time-series analysis, and so on. I deal with problems related to operation and integration of energy resources, including renewable generation, demand response, and in particular battery energy storage systems (BESS). I am interested in various practical aspects of this problem in developing effective algorithms and designs for operation and planning of BESS. I have a passion to study all aspects of batteries, from the cell dynamics, to BMS, controls & scheduling, and to financial and project economics!
Research and Development Interests
Energy storage, demand response, distributed energy resources.
Operation, planning, electricity market operations, risk analysis.
Stochastic programming, convex relaxations, decomposition.
Statistical analysis, time-series analysis, state estimation.
Note to Prospective Students
Currently I am accepting talented, motivated graduate students who are interested in optimization, analytics, and machine learning in the enrgy domain, to supervise them with their research towards their master thesis. I will also lead them with the best practices and desciplines in the energy industry, so that hopefully help them stand out in their pursuite of careers. The candidates must be already in the MSc. program of UCR ECE department. To apply send CV with a short description of your status at UCR to my contact emails. Supervision will be remote and mostly via virtual meetings.
